“Ensuring modern vocational schools to educate well trained employees”
We have involved a variety of partners consisting of 1 college of higher education, 6 vocational schools& 1 private training institution that provides courses for overseas students & organizes many training schemes. Partners from Poland,Latvia,Romania,Turkey,Malta,Spain,Czech Republic,Portugal have lots in common, face similar problems. We all organize students’ training in different companies& have workshops. The project topic is a daily concern for us all &demands both our close cooperation &work with companies organizing students’ trainings. Project activities are directed at teachers, trainers and trainees. Students aged15–25 come from rural areas and attend technical or vocational classes to obtain a profession. Our project activities include: preparing PP presentations, educational films, charts, SWOTanalyses, interviews with trainers, headmasters, employers, identifying problems in vocational training, comparing the results of different questionnaires, producing brochures about vocational education in Europe, cooperation with companies, organizing a conference. Mobilities will enable us to get to know partner schools, their curriculum, the way they operate. Inclusion visits to school workshops& companies will identify good practices& training methods in each country. Teachers& trainers will be able to exchange ideas and teaching experience, observe their colleagues, gain didactic materials, activities &some advice. We anticipate teachers will start cooperating with each other, schools will tighten their relationships with industry. Students will benefit from improved education and training, will become more self-confident, proactive Europeans motivated to raise their qualifications. All participants will improve communication, ICT, language& interpersonal skills.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES AND STRATEGY
Objectives 1. Identifying & learning about vocational education system in each country 2. Developing the collaboration with companies within each partner school 3. Linking theory with practice in vocational training 4. Testing teaching & training methods in vocational schools 5. Increasing the use of educational materials based on ever developing modern technologies 6. Identifying problems of graduates of vocational schools 7. Enhancing language & ICT skills 8. Enriching Intercultural Dialogue ISSUES •Getting to know similarities & differences in vocational education & vocational training in each country, •Comparing curricula, types of classes & practical education in school workshops, •Tightening the cooperation between schools & companies organising students’ trainings, •Analysing teaching methods & techniques used by teachers in different countries, •Making improved use of educational materials based on modern technologies, •Correlation between teaching practical & theoretical subjects, •Exchange of information, ideas & experience connected with vocational teaching, •Communicating in English, using ICT skills to improve Internet research, to prepare teaching materials, etc. •Learning about partner countries, their culture & traditions. ACTIVITIES -Internet research -Presenting systems of education &vocational training on PPT -Designing project website -Discussing steps &procedures related to get professional accreditation -Lesson &workshop observations &active participation -Conducting the same questionnaires in each institution(among teachers,students,headmasters),comparing their results -Visits to companies which organize students’ trainings in each country -Interviewing employers &managers in companies -Designing teaching materials based on modern technologies -Exchanging didactic materials &website addresses with useful teaching ideas -Discussing difficulties in cooperation with company & suggesting solutions -Making SWOT analyses -Producing short educational films -Interviewing the graduates of vocational schools -Making 5 brochures & a final booklet -Organizing a final conference on VET in European countries Our project will be based on the exchange of good practices, comparing & identifying commonalities / differences in vocational education at the European level. Students in all the partner countries will be taught by new techniques &methods based on the exchange of good practice in the partnership.
